Javier contributes to the implementation of our regional projects by carrying out grant proposals and reports for public-private partnerships as well as federal agencies. He also offers strategic and analytic guidance to our local partners and provides accountability for seven projects in nine countries. He’s a natural born leader and serves as liaison between the OAS Financial Department, National Offices and Local Partners.
Monterroso’s professional experiences include the Congress of the Republic of Guatemala, the Embassy of the Republic of Guatemala in France, INTERPEACE – United Nations International Peacebuilding Alliance, the National Democratic Institute (NDI), and the foundation of “The Migrant Peacebuilding Project.”
Javier holds a B.A. in Government and a Minor in Economics from Colby College and a DPMI Certificate in International Development and Social Change from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS). He’s from Guatemala and is fluent in Spanish, English, and French.
